英国的奖学金大致分为三类:英国政府奖学金、英国院校奖学金和其他类型奖学金(助学金)，这里每类奖学金我们都举例说明一下：

第一大类政府奖学金

英国志奋领奖学金British Chevening Scholarships

英国外交和联邦事务部(FCO) 及其合作伙伴或赞助商联合出资，有两种类型的奖学金：第一种是Chevening Fellowships ，Chevening Fellowships是提供给已经在职业生涯中达到了影响位置专业人士，并希望通过量身定制的短期课程，在英国高校，以增加他们的知识，社交和潜力；第二种是普通大学生可以申请的Chevening Scholarships:

该奖学金金融包括以下费用和开销：

• university tuition fees (please note that there is a fee cap applied to MBA programmes which requires applicants to cover any additional cost over £18,000)

• a monthly stipend

• travel costs to and from the UK

• an arrival allowance

• a homeward departure allowance

• a thesis grant

• a grant for study materials

• a study travel allowance

• the cost of one visa application

• a travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK

申请该奖学金，申请者必须具备以下条件：

• Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country.

• Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your scholarship has ended

• Have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry to a post-graduate programme at a UK university. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK

• Have at least two years’ work experience

• Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by 14 July 2016

• Meet the Chevening English language requirement by 14 July 2016

苏格兰“兰十字奖学金”（Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships，SSS）

是一个由苏格兰政府和苏格兰高等教育机构联合提供资金支持的大型奖学金计划。该计划提供近200个名额，每单奖学金价值2000英镑。奖学金主要用来支付在苏格兰任何一家高等教育机构攻读本科、硕士和博士学位学生一年的学费。

• Have a conditional or unconditional offer of a place at a Scottish university on an eligible course before an application can be considered.

• Be a citizen of Canada, India, USA or the People's Republic of China (Hong Kong also being eligible as it is a Special Administrative Region of China).

• Be able to demonstrate that they can meet the costs of living in Scotland and the remaining tuition fees.

• Complete an application form and submit it to their selected institution by the closing date of 31 March 2015.

• Not have previously studied for a full undergraduate degree in Scotland.

• Not have previously received a Saltire Scholarship.

Eligible courses:

• The course must be an undergraduate, Masters or PhD level course in one of the following broad subject areas: Science, technology, creative industries, financial services, renewable and clean energy.

• Courses must be full time and delivered in Scotland. Online, distance learning or courses delivered at a Scottish university campus overseas are not eligible for the scholarship.

这里介绍一下以下三种英国大学的奖学金

第一种称之为subject-specific scholarships，也就是针对某些科目开设的奖学金项目，大家可以通过网站查询学生所学转专业在哪些大学有提供奖学金，

第二种是sports scholarships to support talented student athletes.有体育强项的学生有资格申请该类奖学金，

第三种就是专门针对中国学生设立的奖学金。

至于何时申请奖学金，我们可以了解到绝大部分奖学金是在拿到offer后才可以申请；部分院校在填写课程申请表时即可选填是否申请奖学金，这种情况，我们建议学生在申请课程时即填写相关内容，因为英国奖学金申请和课程申请一样，遵循早到早得的原则，在这之前按照该文章前面的内容了解好各项奖学金的特点。

填写申请表，需要填写类似PS的内容，比如为什么你觉得你有资格申请这个奖学金，有的甚至需要提交专业相关的论文。

另外部分院校提供family discount，即之前有家庭成员在该大学完成学业的话，可以获得一定折扣。

第三类其他类别的就是一些中国机构开设的给赴英留学的学生设立的奖学金项目，比如中国国家留学基金管理委员会等等。
