Students can earn a traditional two-year M.B.A. or a one-year Accelerated M.B.A. at Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management. Full-time M.B.A. students complete a semester-long immersion program in a specific discipline of their choice. Options include Strategic Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Private Equity, and Sustainable Global Enterprise. Students can take courses at other highly ranked schools at Cornell University, including the Law School and College of Engineering, and can earn a dual degree, tacking on a J.D., master of engineering, an M.D., or other degrees to their M.B.A.
Cornell students learn the Johnson Leadership Model, which stresses action, knowledge, relationships, and vision. The school runs interactive programs, including the Deloitte Consulting Case Competition , a weeklong event for teams of first year students. Students can also get involved in about 60 organizations, as varied as the Private Equity Society to the Sailing Club. For M.B.A. students at the Cornell campus in Ithaca, N.Y., there is limited university-owned housing.
The Johnson Graduate School of Management also offers an Executive M.B.A. program, convenient for professionals working in New York City, since these classes are held every other weekend at a campus 15 miles from Manhattan. There are more than 11,000 alumni, include notable graduates H. Fisk Johnson, CEO and chairman of household supply manufacturer S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc.; Irene Rosenfeld, CEO of Kraft Foods Inc.; and Terry Stewart, president and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
