Students that enter Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management are immersed in a program that features a core foundation of general management skills with career-focused specializations. The school implements a modular format which, the school notes, promotes accelerated learning by allowing first year students to focus on career areas of their interest for a seven-week period before interviewing for internships.

The Owen Graduate School of Management offers a full-time M.B.A., healthcare M.B.A., and executive M.B.A., but does not offer a part-time M.B.A. program. The school also has Ph.D. programs and graduate degrees in finance, accountancy, and healthcare. Joint degrees are offered in conjunction with the Vanderbilt Law School, the School of Medicine, the Center for Latin American and Iberian Studies, the Divinity School, and the School of Engineering.

The Owen School has more than 30 student clubs and organizations, including the Global Business Association and the Owen Extreme Sports and Outdoor Adventure Club. Most Owen students live off campus, though students may stick around for school events like weekend socials and the Capitalist Ball.

Notable alumni of the Owen Graduate School include Doug Parker, chairman and CEO of US Airways Group, Inc.; David Farr, CEO of the multinational Emerson Electric Co.; and David Ingram, chairman and president of home-entertainment product distributor Ingram Entertainment, Inc.
